Baer Blacksmith Shop

The blacksmith shop from the Crossroads, recreated at McClellan Ranch Preserve, where the forge is fired once a month.

William Baer, a blacksmith from Philadelphia, ran a shop at the crossroads of Stevens Creek and De Anza Boulevard, repairing wagons and then the first Model Ts; it later became a garage. His son Charlie built a smaller replica on his own property to save the tools, and the city bought the tools at auction. The replica stands at McClellan Ranch Preserve.

A metalworker fires the forge on the last Saturday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
