Rancho Rinconada

A neighbourhood in eastern Cupertino of 1950s ranch houses designed by Cliff May, annexed to the city in 1999.

Rancho Rinconada, Spanish for corner ranch, is bounded by Saratoga Creek, Stevens Creek Boulevard, Miller Avenue and Bollinger Road. Its first houses were low-cost single-storey ranch houses built in the 1950s by Stern & Price, designed by Cliff May and marketed as the Miracle House.

The tract stayed an unincorporated county pocket until March 1999, when residents voted to join Cupertino. Many of the original houses have since been rebuilt. Cupertino High School, Sedgwick Elementary and Hyde Middle School serve the neighbourhood.
