Miracle House

Cliff May’s low-cost 1950s ranch house, built in numbers in Rancho Rinconada.

Stern & Price built Rancho Rinconada’s houses in the 1950s to designs by the California ranch-house architect Cliff May, marketed as the Miracle House, with landscapes by Douglas Baylis. Their modular construction cut materials and labour so far that a house could go up in a single day. Many have since been remodelled or replaced.
