Llano de los Robles

The Plain of the Oaks: the Spanish name for the oak-covered valley floor Anza crossed in 1776.

Font wrote that the camp of San Joseph Cupertino lay in the Llano de los Robles, a plain with a great abundance of oaks, some very large. Anza’s diary describes the same spacious plain with many oaks and live oaks.
