Le Petit Trianon

The 1892 mansion on the De Anza College campus, built for a wine estate and now the California History Center.

Le Petit Trianon was built in 1892 for Charles A. Baldwin and his wife Ellen Hobart Baldwin at the centre of their Beaulieu wine estate, whose wines sold in New York, London and Central America. Its classical French details recall the Grand Trianon of Louis XIV, and it is the only example of V-rustic redwood construction left in the area.

Harriet Pullman Carolan bought it in 1909 and E. F. Euphrat in 1940. Listed on the National Register in 1972, it was moved twice on the campus and restored in 1982 as the California History Center, with its Stocklmeir Library and Archives.
